rideukbmx in Iraq: War Torn BMX
In between shooting photos for the Iraq article in the magazine this month, Walter Pieringer shot some video footage on his DSLR of his traveling companions getting attacked by dogs, riding in helicopters, and blowing shit up in the desert. He cut together this edit to try to convey a little bit of what it was like traveling to a war zone to ride BMX bikes.
To see the full story, including interviews with the soldiers that ride, check out this months issue of rideukbmx.

I totally agree with you here’sjohnny but at the same time, it’s not the troops that made the decision, they just have to deal with the consequences of that decision, so we should support the troops, if not the decision makers.

“Shouldn’t be there in the first place”! In my opinion Bmx doesnt has anything to do with military interventions…those guys lost my consideration in going there just for money…! Just a few more of rednecks.

Who are these jokers?? Thanks for supporting their morale. Your tours are incredibly appreciated and they are amazed what you can do after hopping off a helo in 120F+ desert heat. There is always some risk in simply traveling out there, so that’s appreciated.
