The long lost art of the roof drop

Matt from http://www.bigplaytime.com/
For fear of sounding like a nostalgic old school rider, I’d like to point out something. The roof drop used to be a staple part of the progression of a BMX rider. Technically, it’s a very easy thing to do, but it requires balls. It’s scary, you’re usually going pretty fast and the drop is usually high enough to break something!
A roof drop is also measured easily, you can count the bricks, estimate it roughly in feet, it’s something to brag about and it’s something that looks pretty epic to fellow riders and the public alike.
Roof drops seem to have dissapeared from web edits of late but I just stumbled on this on the Oxford BMX website. It reminded me of my first notable roof drop, standing on the edge battling those demons… I love it.
