The first issue of the new year is here! Who would of thought that we would be shooting a cover on something as simple as a concrete block. A concrete block which is situated less then 100 meters from Ride UK HQ. About a month ago, these cold and crusty looking blocks outside the Smithfield Meat Market found themselves a new lease of life, when Berlin based street artist, Evol gave them a fresh lick of paint.
We joked about shooting a riding photo on these blocks, but there was no doubt about it though as they look pretty sweet whether you’re into “street art” or not. As the shorter-than-normal-Christmas deadline approached we needed a cover and Cam Hardy was on hand to come visit the Ride UK HQ and shoot on the transformed concrete block. Check it out!

Nose manual a 4 foot long block = cover shot… what has the world come to?
Ive seen these blocks in central London

nice pic! what`s the problem? nose manuals are sick who`s not doing them so why not on the front cover! style 1 Tech 0. go and watch x games haters!. I thought bmx was supposed to be fun it`s getting more like A bitch fight. what next hair pulling lol
cam hardy rules!!
To everyone being critical of the cover, can’t wait until i see you on the front cover
I completely agree with Harvey and bmx sucks on this one. He’s on the cover and you’re behind a screen talking shit… Personally I think this is one of my favourite covers and definitely the most interesting one photo-wise. It’s the simple things that look the best
yes cam this is so sick!! cover looks amazing!!
I won’t be on the cover any time soon, i am not a pro rider… and thats exactly my point. Although the chance is I will probably never be on the cover of any publication, I can defiantly ride to a higher standard than this photo displays. A cover shot should be a huge achievement of photographic and riding skill, not just a cool concept for a photo. There are a good percentage of riders that could have nose manualed this block just as well if not better, literally in the thousands, but the point is they aren’t on the cover because they just like Cam Hardy don’t deserve a cover nose manualing a 4 foot block. RideUK please remember that a cover shot it something that should blow people away, have the ‘wtf’ factor where balls skill and photography merge into one. Peace x.
Dry your eyes old timer.
Haha yes Hank best comeback comment ever! Hahaha

“A cover shot should be a huge achievement of photographic and riding skill, not just a cool concept for a photo.”
…of course the photo needs to be interesting and conceptual if its going to be on the front a massively popular bmx publication.
I think its one of the more interesting covers from ride i have seen in a long time because it promotes the idea of being creative and also backs up the basic fundamentals of street riding.
last month a kick out, this month a nose manual, where the fuck is my bunny hop double page pull out..
anyone for an endo?
